An award winning surface designer and artist, Nicole Chazaud Telaar is a graduate of the Fashion Institute of Technology (BFA with Honors specializing in textiles). During a corporate textile design career that spanned 16 years, she has developed highly successful and award winning fabric print lines used by major manufacturers for many soft application treatments in both residential and hospitality industries. Nicole launched Festive Fibers in 1998, now based in Alstead, New Hampshire, she offers clients one-of-a-kind, colorful, contemporary patterned wool fabrics, one of a kind furniture and rugs, made using age-old artisan techniques of felt making. While Festive Fibers specializes in a unique felt decorative product, it is also a full-service surface design firm, consulting to interior designers and manufacturing firms. Nicole finds inspiration from nature and travels. While she has an affinity for the simplicity of Asian design, she loves going for the wow factor in her work. As an artist she challenges herself to create well balanced designs that draw the viewing experience through the piece, by using color, motif and visual texture.
