Saturday...

The basement walls were sealed, the saws and tools all moved into the new space. There are more spaces and places that need to be flipped, painted and primped.

I needed a break and took Z2, JMan and Red to see the Man Child in the play-off game. Although they didn't win, the man child was able to hit 2 out of 3, scoring the only run. I often wonder, why, when you hit the ball out to center field (or wherever) and it's caught, it isn't considered a hit. The ball was hit. Today, is a 5P game and I plan on taking the break to be there. If the team loses, the season is done.

French toast was the breakfast theme today. It was the request of Z2, who happened not to wake up for a hot meal. Z2 has been diagnosed with an iron deficiency, which can be common in growing pre-teens and teens. The doctor has told him to eat cream of wheat twice a week and has yet to give him supplements. We have tried this hot cereal with maple syrup, cinnamon, applesauce and adding uncooked into yogurt, all resulting in the gagging reflux...I have reverted to giving him raisins (both plain and chocolate covered) for snacks and unbeknownst to him, the salad he's eating for dinner is baby spinach. Short of the tablespoon of black strap molasses and other things he won't like, it's creative cooking time.

Yes, when renovating your home, it is called home improvement. When doing it with the laid back people in your life, it's nerve wracking. Today, is going to be loooooooooooooooooooooong!

just a thought Ellen but most kids like nuts and there are a few that are high in iron. One of them being Cashew nuts. Another thing is dried apricots or fresh if you can get them. Hope things improve for him and I have to say just the thought of Cream of Wheat is enough to make me gag! LOL
