a bit of this and that

On Thursday the plane left for Florida. It took me 2 days of deep cleaning to make the house all mine for the 10 days Kevin and the male child will be gone. Yes, everything but the studio has been cleaned to my liking. The glitter, the glues, the papers and what nots have come out on the kitchen table to play. I love my studio but I love the freedom to be able to just play where and when I want.

Seeing how I never made the Christmas fairies of the grandkids I thought Easter greetings for them to have would be a good thing to do. The four I've made are from 4" cones which makes them quite mailable. The new ones I've started are with 7" cones and are being covered in paper and little glitter in comparrison to these...

From left to right we have 'Out of the Mouth of Babes with his sister' and the 3 Gator kids.

Yesterday I had lunch with my friend Carol Mania who is a phenomenal weaver and artist. She brought me 'thread' cones in a few sizes which are going to make wonderful pop-up dolls for my girl classes at Fletcher Farm this summer. You can check out Carol's etsy store to see the wonderful creations she makes and Fletcher's site to view all the wonderful classes.

One of life's little pleasures is listening to audio books. 'Being Eight' has taken a liking to the Spiderwick Chronicles and when I went to buy them I found it cheaper to buy the cd's to listen to. I thought listening while drawing and playing was much healthier than the television noise and beside it's a great way for me to 'read' them.

Off for now.
