A Sis Boom kind of day...

It was a dreary day for a drive and without my rain companion (Pamela Huntington who was there in spirit and voicemail) to talk to, I turned the music up loud for the almost 2 hr drive. I knew at the end of the drive Jennifer would be there with her warm smile and hugs to greet me. As usually, Jennifer does not disappoint! It may have been raining outside but in the house, on the porch and in the tent, the new fabric line and all the glittery things she created for the show brought sunshine to the dismal day.
I met the Aussie and her friend Joyce. It was good to finally meet Joyce, for I have felt like I've known her and her family throughout the years from her friendship with the Aussie. The unexpected arrival of Jen O'Connor was a treat. Jen is the owner of Earth Angels, another event held twice a year that is not to be missed (don't forget it is available 24/7 on-line). Jen was there with her lovely mom and friend, who I can picture but the name escapes me.

I enjoyed watching two quilters sitting on the floor besides the fat quarter trunk, going through each fabric pack, picking and choosing what they wanted; they will be making many quilts.

As usual, we got lost. We asked about lunch and when we were suppose to take a left, we took a right. The adventure led us through beautiful back roads with amazing scenery and right to a lovely roadside tavern. The second treat of the day was a lovely Florida salad; a chopped salad of lettuce, hearts of palm, a variety of veggies with a dressing infused with a hint of tarragon. YUM! The girls started out with a heavenly lobster bisque, followed by salad and warm rolls.
From there we said our good-byes and headed to the Merritt for home.
If you can make the Sis Boom event, it is well worth the trip.
