Janette Schuster

It was wonderful to get a Happy Spring message from my friend, Janette Schuster today. On such a cold dank day, it was a warm welcome.

Janette will be teaching for us at Art-Is-You, Taking Tea with Alice. If you haven't taken a class with Janette, I hear she is a phenom. She is patient, she is thorough and the pieces that are produced in her classes are amazing. Lots of proud, happy smiles.

Janette's book, Mixed-Media Collage Jewelry: New Directions in Memory Jewelry is now available. The book is masterfully written , the projects are photographed beautifully and with explicit directions can be followed with ease.

For those of you who don't know Janette:

Janette is a freelance writer, artist, workshop instructor, and incurable treasure hunter. Formally trained as a geologist and archaeologist, she has been digging up artifacts all her life. She now indulges her love of found relics, modern to ancient, by using them in jewelry, collage, assemblage, and mosaics. Her work has appeared in many publications including Somerset Studio; Cloth, Paper, Scissors; The Studio Zine; ARTitude Zine; Somerset Studio Gallery, and Return to Asia. Mixed-Media Collage Jewelry: New Directions in Memory Jewelry is now available. You

Here's what Janette's teaching in October 2009.
