Having 5 children, you are involved in many things, meeting many families and their extended families and friends. Having said all this, about 5 or 6 years ago I decided to go to the local market. As I was perusing the aisles I saw a gentleman who I knew but could not for the life of me remember his name. I went thru every mental lists of children's friends, my friends, maybe just one of the town cronies? As I turned the corner and our eyes met, I knew I had to pretend I knew who he was. The conversation went like this...hello, how are you?... how have you been?... please say 'hi' to the family, it was really nice seeing you. Of course he responded... hi...fine...and will do. It just bothered me, that I didn't know his name.
As I put my groceries up on the belt, the cashier said to me...You know him!? To which I shook my head, yes. It was then when she said with excitement...YOU KNOW PAUL NEWMAN?!
Yes, no wonder he looked familiar! Yes, those gorgeous blue eyes! I remember the toothpick in his mouth, not being as tall as I thought he'd be and then, I started to hope the brief conversation made him wonder... who was that?
It's sad to hear the passing of such a great man. We have a local Hole In The Wall Gang camp not far from my house. It was never unusual to run into the Newmans if you were at the market or out for pizza, so they say.

oh how sad i was to hear of paul newman leaving us...
i live in ct about 50 miles or so from his house-but alas never ran into him-god was that man ever sexy!!! ALWAYS!!!
